Beaver Management for Roads and Paths
We are preventing beavers from flooding roads at Intervale Lowlands Preserve by using culvert caging structures commonly called “Beaver Deceivers”. These cages are placed upstream of a road that contains a culvert and act as a barrier to dam construction. The barrier works by converting a small water inlet (a culvert) into a larger wire enclosure. Click on the image below to read about how we manage roads and paths.
